Expert Representation in Criminal Appeals

I have practiced as a criminal defense attorney for my entire career. After 7 years as a trial attorney, representing criminal defendants in front of juries for everything from Homicide to Driving Under the Influence, I founded my firm in 2021. I did so to focus exclusively on postconviction cases and appeals to the Colorado Supreme Court and Colorado Court of Appeals.

Criminal defendants are often quickly, and unfairly, pushed through the system in district court proceedings. This results in manipulated verdicts, unintelligent plea agreements, and disproportionate sentences, among a host of other errors and injustices. These same defendants then receive substandard representation at the very stage where there is an opportunity to correct obvious errors and injustices—their appeal.

That is where I make sure my representation changes things. I have dedicated my practice to postconviction representation, and successfully challenged convictions and sentences throughout the state and in the Colorado Court of Appeals and Colorado Supreme Court.

I have exonerated clients who were found guilty at trial, cut decades of prison off sentences, and argued multiple cases in front of the Colorado Supreme Court. I focus on precise legal research and writing, and take pride in focused attention to detail to find the overlooked issues that can overturn a lower court’s error. My experience means I know exactly where to look for what can make the difference in your case.

I am a solo practitioner, and do not work with any other attorneys. If you are my client, you work directly with me—not an associate or a paralegal. My clients know that I value building genuine and authentic connections with the people I represent, while ensuring they get focused, exclusive representation that complex criminal postconviction cases demand.

That is what you should expect, and is what you will receive

I was raised in Boston, and went to law school in New York City. I maintain active membership in the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar and am admitted to practice law in Colorado, and have been since I moved to Colorado in 2014.

When I’m not working on my cases, you can usually find me enjoying the mountains of Colorado or exploring a new country. I am an avid gardener, skier, hiker, and world traveler, having visiting almost 50 countries.
